Hi and welcome to this week’s ramblings. We had another superb week here in this part of California - temperatures in the mid-90’s and sunny every day. However, still looking forward to some autumn rains.
But let’s get to the auctions, eh? Tonight (in about six hours) we’ve got 29 auctions coming to a close. As in prior weeks, there is a real mix of material. Many nice 19th century classics like Scott 63, 73, 36, 76, and a 72 with expertization certificate. To go with those items, you will find some very nice mint airmail offerings and a seldom-seen Scott E5a - the Special Delivery stamp with “dots” in the design. There are a handful of early 20th century stamps, too. You’ll find the entire set of the Nebraska overprints - mostly never hinged, along with various other mint and used selections.
I’m sure there are some stamps in our listings this week that you can find a home for in your collection!
And, as I had mentioned before - we will put up several Scarlet Macaw feather auctions tonight. In fact, we listen one last Thursday as a 10-day auction: a nice group of 11 long tail feathers. The other four groups of smaller feathers go up tonight.
Next week we’ll have, in addition to the stamps, one or two slot cars and an HO train locomotive - stay tuned!
