Hi and welcome to June! Summer officially starts in a few more weeks, but the hot weather predicted for the weekend here makes it seem like it has already begun.
This week we have only 10 auctions coming to a close - but there are a couple really nice items worth bidding on. You’ll find a Private Die Proprietary stamp (Scott RO173), group of three Scott 11A stamps, Scott 94 (F-grill), Scott 14, 78, 69, 73, 205 & 206, a 1914 booklet pane (Scott 424d), and a group of seven used 1893 Columbians.
Last week I mentioned that we obtained a lot containing some very nice mint plate number issues. We put one up last night as a 10-day auction: Scott 573, the $5 regular issue stamp from 1923. We also launched a second 10-day auction: Scott 547, the $2 Franklin from 1920, mint never hinged.
There will be quite a few plate number singles, strips, and blocks coming next week. Nearly all are from the very early 20th century, and all are mint, original gum. Several will be never hinged. Also coming are a few mint singles, without the plate numbers. While my main focus in the last year or so has been on 19th century issues, I thought these plate number stamps might be of interest to a lot of folks. They’ve sold well in the past, so we got out the checkbook and bought a LOT of ‘em! As more 19th century stuff is obtained, we’ll get those listed, too.
Good luck with your bidding and have a great weekend and start to June!
